The buzz: Bangkokians just can’t get enough of buffet joints. And if you love to stuff your face with unlimited meat, this two-month-old eatery is yet another option.
The decor: There is not much going on in this unfussy, brightly-lit eatery. The counters are equipped with individual pots, and can seat up to 42 diners. The friendly staff help add some warmth to the otherwise average dining room.
The cuisine: It’s all about all-you-can-eat shabu shabu here. Chibi means petite in Japanese and while the menu is small, the restaurant is big hearted. Pay B420 net and you are entitled to feast on all the Australian marbled beef, Australian lamb, pork, shrimps, squid, veggies, eggs, rice and udon your stomach can handle. And there’s no time limit. Drop by Tue-Thu for lunch and you will also get to enjoy some Japanese Wagyu beef. There are three dips to suit your liking: refreshing ponzu, spicy seafood and fragrant sesame. You’ll even be given a small pestle and mortar to grind the freshly roasted sesame yourself. The price also includes soft drinks, fruit juices, tea and daily dessert.
The crowd: Carnivorous university students and young office workers looking for a good-value, all-you-can-eat meal.
